EBI promotes diversity in all of its forms, including socio-economic status. The school offers an aggressive need-based financial aid program to assist families with tuition expenses. This year, over 30% of EBI students receive financial aid.
In addition to direct financial aid, several local and national organizations award tuition scholarships to students attending independent schools. A number of lenders also specialize in loans to help families fund independent school tuition. See a detailed list of financing options.
Like many independent schools, EBI uses the Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) from the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) to do a standardized calculation to determine need.
To apply for financial aid:
- Complete the Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) online at sss.ets.org and have a report sent to EBI (EBI's school code is 4271). Contact EBI if you have any questions about how to complete this form. There is fee to submit the PFS. EBI has a limited number of fee waivers available; contact the school for more information. Complete the PFS by January 15, 2009
- Complete and submit the EBI Financial Aid Request to EBI by January 15, 2009. (Available November 15th)
- Complete and submit IRS Form 4506 to EBI by January 15, 2009. Complete items 1-5 and sign; do not submit fee.
- Submit your 2008 tax return (IRS Form 1040 and all supporting schedules) to EBI by February 15, 2009.
EBI will notify recipients of financial aid awards with admissions decisions on March 5, 2009.
Note: In the case of divorce or separation, EBI expects both parents/guardians to contribute to the payment of their child's tuition regardless of legal agreements. A student's custodial and non-custodial parents, as well as those parents' current spouses, are expected to submit the Parents' Financial Statement and IRS Form 4506.
If you have any questions about the financial aid application process, please don't hesitate to contact the school at 510-653-3324 or admissions@ebinternacional.org.
