School Head

The Trustees of Escuela Bilingüe Internacional seek a bilingual, dynamic head either as an interim for 2007-2008 or as a long term head. Our school’s founding head has had to step down at her physician’s urging for health reasons.

The successful candidate will embrace the School’s mission and philosophy, be able to articulate it to the external community while nurturing a caring internal community.  More specifically, the Head of Escuela Bilingüe Internacional will exhibit the following qualifications, attributes and competencies.

Professional qualifications

  • A university degree
  • Fluency in English and Spanish
  • Organized, pro-active leader able to inspire the faculty and staff
  • PK-8 teaching experience and familiarity with the International Baccalaureate Organization Primary Years Program 
  • Preferably, at least 5 years of experience as a head or as a senior administrator in an independent school

Kindergarten Teachers

Escuela Bilingüe Internacional seeks classroom teachers and teaching assistants for the Kindergarten and Pre primary classrooms. The successful candidates will embrace the School's mission and philosophy, work in a dynamic community with other educators committed to bilingual education.

Escuela Bilingüe Internacional, is looking for teachers who:

Spanish Kindergarten Teacher

Duties:
In addition to classroom instruction, teachers are expected to participate in supervision duties, staff meetings, parent meetings, workshops and various activities that promote the  schools programs. The school follows the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP) and teachers who do not have experience will participate in training.

Requirements:
Teachers must have a teaching credential or advanced degree in education, or equivalent teaching qualifications from their country of origin, and at least two years experience teaching in a Spanish language Elementary School level classroom setting. Our school is looking for committed, motivated and enthusiastic Teachers with excellent organizational and team-work skills.

Contract Information:
The initial contract is for the 2007-08 school year. The contract is renewable on a yearly basis by mutual agreement. The salary range for full time teachers is from $36,000 to $60,000 depending on qualifications and experience.

Part Time English Elementary Class Teacher for Kindergarten/1st grade

Duties:
The English language teacher will be responsible for teaching the core English language components of Reading, Language Arts, Spelling and Writing. The school offers a bilingual academic program with Spanish as the main language of instruction in the early years and English being taught separately. The school follows the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP) and teachers with a background and/or understanding of this program are preferred. In addition to classroom instruction, teachers are expected to participate in supervision duties, staff meetings, parent meetings, workshops and various activities that promote the school’s programs. This is a part-time position.

Pre Primary Teachers

Escuela Bilingüe Internacional is seeking Spanish-speaking preschool teachers with ECE units to work in our Spanish immersion preschool program. We will be hiring head and part-time teachers. The head teacher position is a full time position with competitive pay and benefits. We seek candidates who are interested in stimulating and following the children's own interests and initiatives in a thematic, play-based program. We are seeking individuals with dedication to this profession who are looking for a stable, warm, team-oriented environment. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Head Teachers:
Current holder of Head Teacher Child Development Permit or 24 ECE/CD + 2 Adult Supervision units/or BA or higher w/12 units of ECE, + 3 units supervised field experienced in ECE setting. Experience: 350 days of 3+ hours per day within 4 years of experience working in ECE program and within the last 7 years required.

Part Time Teachers:
AA degree or valid ECE teaching certificate, or 12 ECE/CD core units & must meet all state licensing requirements, 2 + years preschool teaching experience in ECE setting within the last 4 years required.
