EBI Throughout the Year

AUGUST

New Family Orientation

This is an opportunity for new families to learn more about EBI before the school year begins.

Pre-Conferences

Each year we hold conferences with parents prior to school beginning so parents and teachers can begin sharing information.

Heritage Picnic

We kick off the year by coming together as a community and developing a deeper understanding of who we are.

 

SEPTEMBER

Back-To-School-Night

This event is held in September for parents to learn from teachers about their child's daily experience in the classroom and the curriculum.

 

OCTOBER

First Parent Conferences

Parents make appointments before or after school to meet teachers individually at designated times during the school year, to discuss their children's work.

Annual Fund Drive Kick Off

Our biggest fundraiser every year is our annual fund drive. This event is critical to the success of our program.

Fall Beautification Day

This is an opportunity for parents and children to share their time to make EBI an event better place to spend each day by working on small projects that make a big difference. There is another Beautification Day in March.

Fall Camp

A day camp organized at School during fall break.

Halloween Parade and UNICEF Collection

Each year, EBI children hold a special music assembly and Halloween Parade to which parents are invited. Additionally, the children organize a collection for UNICEF.

IB Information Night

Parents have the opportunity to come to the school and learn more about the international baccalaureate at an event organized by the IB Coordinator.

 

NOVEMBER

Grandparents’/persons’ Day

A day before the Thanksgiving break when grandparents and other grand persons are invited to the school for student performances and refreshments

 

DECEMBER

Progress Reports

Parents receive the first progress reports from teachers in December.

Winter Concert

This is a special event held each year the day before students go on winter break. It is a special music presentation the children work hard to create.

December Camp

A day camp organized at School during the first week of the December break.

 

JANUARY

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service

This is a day when the Parent Association organizes opportunities for the EBI community to do volunteer work outside the School.

 

FEBRUARY

Winter Camp

A day camp organized at School during winter break in February.

Family Fiesta

In February, the EBI Parent Association holds a community meal to raise money for a special school project selected by the parents.

Spring Beautification Day

APRIL

Gala and Silent Auction

This is our biggest parent fundraiser of the year and a great party!

 

MAY

EBI Parent and Family Day

Children plan a special program each May to celebrate their families.

Aventura Day

This is our annual celebration of the Aventura program. The Aventura teachers work collaboratively to throw a special party for students and parents.

 

JUNE

Second Progress Reports

Student-led Conferences

The last parent conference of the year is led by the children the day after classes end. Children review their portfolios with their parents and teachers, reflect on their progress and set goals for the next school year.

Summer Camp Begins!

A series of 2-week camp opportunities, some with special emphasis on certain activities.
