Our Kindergarten and Elementary program follows the International Baccalaureaute Organizational (IBO) Primary Years Program curriculum (PYP) that aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through international understanding and respect.
The Primary Years Program curriculum:
- Emphasizes the acquisition of conceptual understanding
- Presents knowledge through themes
- Promotes inquiry-based learning
- Supports varied learning styles
- Makes a strong emphasis on creativity
- Integrates music and art
- Reinforces diversity and cultural understanding that is both experienced and taught in the classroom
Kindergarten and First Grade students have one hour of English instruction each day and the rest of their instruction is in Spanish. Students who enter with no Spanish language are supported as needed during their transition to Spanish. We have found that there is a very fast learning period for students at this age.
