Directorio de los Miembros de la Mesa Directiva
La función de La Mesa Directiva de EBI es apoyar la misión de la escuela garantizando la salud y la sostenibilidad a largo plazo de la escuela. La función de La Mesa Directiva es de política y no de administración diaria y, por lo tanto, es el principal responsable de establecer el plan estratégico de EBI, contratar y evaluar al director de la escuela, y actuar como los administradores fiduciarios y financieros de la escuela. Además, los miembros de La Mesa Directiva son voluntarios que abogan en nombre de la escuela con sus respectivas redes y comunidades.
La Mesa Directiva consta de hasta 21 miembros de dentro y fuera de la comunidad escolar inmediata. Los nominados para estos puestos son seleccionados por un comité de nominación compuesto por miembros de La Mesa Directiva y posteriormente son aprobados por toda La Mesa Directiva. De una variedad de fuentes, el comité solicita candidatos que será representativos de la comunidad de EBI y que hayan demostrado una fuerte afiliación con la escuela.


Anye Spivey
Chair, Buildings and Grounds/Presidente Edificios y Terrenos
Anye Spivey nació y creció en San Francisco, California. Asistió a la Universidad de Georgetown en Washington, D.C., con un título en Finanzas. Pasó los últimos 15 años trabajando inicialmente en banca de inversión y más tarde en el campo inmobiliario. Anye es un ávido jugador de baloncesto y golfista, chef aficionado y trabajará diligentemente para mejorar sus habilidades en el idioma español durante su tiempo en EBI. Vive en Oakland con su esposa Jackie y sus dos hijos, Massai y Kamau. Anye Spivey was born and raised in San Francisco, CA. He attended Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. with a degree in Finance. He’s spent the [ast 15 years working initially in investment banking and later as a mixed-use real estate developer. AnyŽ is an avid basketball player and golfer, amateur chef and will be working diligently to improve his Spanish language abilities during his time at EBI. He lives in Oakland with his wife Jackie and their two sons, Massai and Kamau.

Jose Morales
Secretary, Advancement Committee
Jose was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. As the son of Spanish teacher, and through periods living in Guadalajara, Mexico and Madrid, Spain he grew up with a heavy influence of Spanish speaking cultures. This experience eventually lead a desire to work in other countries and has included stints back in Madrid, living in São Paulo, and working throughout Latin America for almost a decade. Jose started work as an engineer in the aerospace industry, but has spent 25+ years in the software industry, today serving the Head of Global Field Operations at Atlassian. Jose and his wife live in Oakland and are thrilled to have their two kids enrolled at EBI where they are getting a global, multi-lingual, IB education.


Luke Dunnington
Finance Committee
Luke Dunnington spent his youth in Austin, TX and formative years in Virginia where he earned a BA in History & Psychology from the University of Virginia. From ’99-’02, he served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Honduras, working with coffee growers to export into US specialty markets. Luke moved to Berkeley in 2006 to pursue his MBA at the Haas School of Business, where he met his wife, and upon graduation launched a career in large scale solar development building over 1,500 MW in California and Texas over the last decade. As the COO and Co-Founder of Intersect Power, a leading developer of solar power plants and clean energy infrastructure, Luke is driving economic solutions to climate crisis. He lives in Oakland with his wife and three children.


Monique Spyke
Chair
Monique Spyke, is a Bay Area transplant from the State of Connecticut. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and African-American Studies from Smith College. Monique is passionate about serving her communities. She is a Managing Director and partner at PFM, a financial services firm committed to doing meaningful work by partnering with institutions transforming their world. Monique also sits on the board of the Oakland Parks and Recreation Foundation. Monique believes in the mission and core values of EBI. She is focused on raising her two daughters to be good stewards, productive citizens of the world, and effective change agents.
