National Day of Silence
Our Students Support LGTBQ+ Rights
Friday, April 27, 2018
On April 27, EBI’s middle school students participated in the National Day of Silence because they wanted to show their support for LGTBQ+ students nationwide. During the event, a group of students chose to remain silent for the entire day to represent the silence many LGTBQ+ students must endure in their lives. At 1 PM, the entire middle school gathered in the courtyard for a three minute circle of silence (this timing coincided with other schools across the country) and the SAGA students closed the event with a poetry reading in the afternoon. We want to extend a special thanks to our SAGA students, along with their faculty advisor Sooz Worthing, for all of the work they put into planning the day.
