School Year Camps

EBI's school year camps are filled with fun and exciting activities in Spanish!

Our school year camps are carefully designed with the interests and developmental needs of our campers in mind. The theme of each camp is different, but they all include an array of activities such as storytelling, arts, crafts, culinary arts, games, sports and field trips. Plus, they provide EBI and non-EBI students the opportunity to meet new friends!

  • Our school year camps are held during the EBI school breaks in October, January, February and April

  • All school year camps are located at our Alcatraz Campus, 410 Alcatraz Avenue, Oakland, CA, 94609

  • Camp activities vary depending on age and camper ability

Our 2018-19 School Year Camps for Pre-K to Grade 5!

Each camp is packed with fun for every camper and incorporates art, sports, and plenty of outdoor play. At EBI, campers learn Spanish through experience! Each session has an overarching theme to guide camper explorations.

Fall Camp (Oct. 22 - 26) ¡Dia de los Muertos!

Join us for our October ¡Día de los Muertos¡ camp where we explore the traditions of the Day of the Dead. Campers learn the history of the holiday and how it is celebrated in many different cultures. They will also make history come to life through storytelling and dance! They will create vibrant sugar skull art, learn how to cook the traditional foods for this celebration, and much more! Join us as we explore the magic meaning behind Día de los Muertos!

January Camp (Jan. 2 - 3) Worlds of Fun!

During our Worlds of Fun! camp, campers will embark on a journey around the world to explore new places and learn about different cultures. Each day will be a new adventure! Our camp is packed with fun and stimulating activities that involve teamwork and support artistic expression. The campers experience recipes, sports, games, dances and useful Spanish phrases from every place we visit. This is a great opportunity for our campers to explore the differences and similarities of people around the world as they learn to appreciate the beauty of each place and become increasingly internationally minded!

Winter Camp (Feb. 15, 19-22) Black History Month

February is Black History Month! This year we are calling all campers to come and explore the contributions of Africans and African-Americans to U.S. culture. Campers will learn about influential Africans and African-Americans in literature, science, sports and the arts. They will taste special afro-descendant foods and dance to the rhythm of African drums!

Spring Camp (Apr 15 - 19) Camping Out!

It's an adventure! It's a camp out! During this week, our campers will explore everything necessary to camp outdoors. They will learn how to put together a tent, forest safety, hiking skills, how to be respectful towards wildlife, how to tie knots, how to build a bonfire, first aid, compass navigation and much more! AND they will make their own personal camp kit. At the end of the week, we put all of our outdoor knowledge into practice during our field trip day!
