Dr. Ifeoma Udoh is a public health scientist with 25 years of experience in implementing science-driven, community based and policy solutions to advance health equity. Her career in public health began right here in Oakland, working in HIV prevention care and treatment community based organizations focused on BIPOC (Black Indigenous People of Color) communities most impacted by the social and structural determinants driving HIV infections. Post graduate education, she continued her work in international roles at the CDC and USAID to implement public health programs. She holds a PhD in Medical Anthropology from UC Berkeley.

Dr. Ifeoma Udoh's family joined EBI in 2022, with one child who has been both at the Alcatraz and now San Pablo Campus. She also joins this board with a broad experience of having served on a number of community based organizational boards in Oakland: the Oakland Animal Shelter/Friends of the Shelter; Roots, and ChangeLabs Solutions, a national organization focused on public health law and structural policy change.

A first generation US born Nigerian-American, being deeply steeped in language and culture has been a philosophy that leads her family.  She values the importance of EBI’s mission of developing global learners as being integral to her own family and work. Ife and her daughter reside in East Oakland.
