Erica was born in Oakland and raised in El Salvador, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Social Work and a certification in Peace Education. With a deep-rooted passion for supporting the comprehensive development of children and youth, Erica brings over two decades of experience in community-based programs focused on youth empowerment, education, and well-being.
For 16 years in El Salvador, she worked extensively in the field of holistic education, designing and leading youth development initiatives that prioritized social-emotional learning, community engagement, and inclusive practices. Her work during this time solidified her belief in the transformative power of education beyond the traditional classroom setting.
Since joining the EBI community in the summer of 2016, shortly after relocating back to California. Erica has served in multiple roles, consistently championing the well-being and whole-child development of students through EBI’s auxiliary programs. In her role as Director of Auxiliary Programs, she oversees a wide range of offerings—including after-school enrichment, extended care, and camps—that provide safe, engaging, and meaningful experiences for students while supporting the broader needs of EBI families.
Outside of work, Erica enjoys cooking, gardening, and spending quality time with her family..
